ISLAMABAD (WSN) – Imran Khan, the founder of PTI, has submitted a request to the Islamabad High Court seeking to halt the proceedings of the 190 million pound reference case.

Lawyers Salman Safdar and Khalid Yousuf Chaudhry filed a separate petition on Khan’s behalf to stop the case. The petition includes the Chairman of NAB, the DG NAB, and the Prosecutor General as respondents.

Khan has requested the release of records from NAB’s 343rd executive board meeting, asserting that the decision to close the case was made during the NAB executive board meeting in April 2020.

Additionally, Khan has challenged the trial court’s August 12 ruling in the Islamabad High Court. According to the investigating officer, the case’s closure was sanctioned in the 343rd NAB board meeting, as stated in the petition.

The petition also argues that failing to produce the record of the NAB executive board meeting would significantly harm Khan’s defense.
