NEW DELHI (WS News) – Former rivals have become friends as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) brought together head coach Gautam Gambhir and star batter Virat Kohli together for an interview.
A teaser for the interview quickly went viral, showcasing the two cricketers, whose relationship faced tensions, especially during the Indian Premier League (IPL) when they exchanged sharp words.
The BCCI’s decision to have both players sit together before the new season has been well received.
In the interview, Gambhir and Kohli discussed their careers, past disagreements, and rivalries.
Gautam Gambir and Virat Kohli praised each other for their performances for the national cricket team, specially the knock Gambhir played in the World Cup 2011 final and Virat Kohli’s 183 against Pakistan in Asia Cup while chasing 330.
Gambhir appreciated Virat Kohli for being the most successful captain in Indian Test history.
Laughters were shared among both cricketers throughout the interview.
