The momentum shifted dramatically thanks to a commanding 123-run partnership between Usman Khan and captain Marnus Labuschagne. Combining aggression with composure, the duo rebuilt the innings with authority.
Labuschagne anchored the innings with elegance, finding gaps with precision and rotating the strike efficiently. Meanwhile, Usman Khan unleashed a breathtaking assault, dispatching bowlers to all parts of the ground. Opening alongside Sahibzada Farhan, Smith initially built his innings cautiously before accelerating with a range of innovative shots. The pair added 132 runs for the opening wicket, laying a strong foundation.
Both batters reached their half-centuries in the 10th over, with Smith eventually racing to his century in just 48 deliveries. Sahibzada contributed a valuable 66 before departing.
However, Multan’s momentum faltered in the death overs following Smith’s dismissal for 106. The middle and lower order failed to capitalize, with wickets falling in quick succession.
