Wimbledon defending champion Alcaraz advances to the final.

Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz secured his fourth Grand Slam final appearance at Wimbledon on Friday, rallying from a set down to defeat Daniil Medvedev. World number three Alcaraz overcame his fifth-ranked opponent 6-7 (1/7), 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 and now awaits either seven-time champion Novak Djokovic or Lorenzo Musetti in Sunday’s title match.

Medvedev twice held leads with breaks in the first set, only to be countered by Alcaraz’s resilience. The match was marked by a moment of frustration for Medvedev, who received a warning for unsportsmanlike conduct after reacting angrily to a ball called for bouncing twice during a crucial ninth game where he was broken.

Despite losing the opening set tie-break, where Medvedev committed just eight unforced errors to Alcaraz’s 15, the Spaniard rebounded strongly. Alcaraz broke Medvedev early in the second set and seized a 3-1 lead, showcasing his prowess with a 27-shot rally in the preceding game.

In the third set, Alcaraz continued to dominate, hitting 14 winners and securing the decisive break in the third game. Medvedev managed to recover a break early in the fourth set, but Alcaraz persisted, reclaiming the lead at 4-3 and ultimately securing victory.
