Injured De Minaur pulls out of Djokovic quarter-final

Australian Alex De Minaur withdrew from his Wimbledon quarter-final against Novak Djokovic on Wednesday due to a hip injury, allowing Djokovic to advance to his 13th Wimbledon semi-final, tying a record. De Minaur, seeded ninth, injured his hip towards the end of his fourth-round match against Arthur Fils on Monday, which he won 6-2 6-4 4-6 6-3. De Minaur described the injury as a small tear in the fiber cartilage connected to his adductor, which was confirmed by a scan. He expressed disappointment at having to withdraw, especially after a successful season where he reached the top 10 and had previously stunned Djokovic in a tournament earlier in the year. De Minaur now faces a race against time to recover for the upcoming Olympics, with the tennis event starting on July 27 at Roland Garros.
