ISLAMABAD (WSN) – On Wednesday, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Asim Munir reassured young Pakistanis that their country’s future is secure.

During his speech at the final session of the two-day National Youth Convention in Islamabad, he underscored the significance of unity, education, and resilience in overcoming various challenges.

Gen Munir stressed the importance of valuing an independent state and encouraged the youth to learn from the experiences of people in Libya, Syria, Kashmir, and Gaza. He also highlighted the state’s duty to shield its citizens from the negative impacts of social media.

Regarding Pakistan’s economic situation, the COAS questioned the predictions of imminent default, urging the youth to stay hopeful and remember that despair is not permissible in Islam.

He emphasized the crucial role of the youth as Pakistan’s greatest asset and assured them of protection from any harm. Gen Munir called for a strong connection among the people, government, and military, asserting that this unity is essential for the country’s security and advancement.

Addressing the recent unrest in Parachinar, he affirmed the army’s dedication to resolving tribal disputes through dialogue and reconciliation.

He commended the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for their steadfast support in the fight against terrorism, likening their resilience to an iron wall standing firm with the army over the past 22 years.

Gen Munir ended his speech with a hopeful message, expressing his belief that Allah will lead Pakistan to triumph over terrorism.
