ISLAMABAD (WS News) – As has been earlier reported by Dunya News, the whopping amounts obtained by IPPs, with many of them being paid without any production, have done significant harm to the economy already under severe burden.
It emerged that the contracts of IPPs have been significantly one sided with the country’s economy getting all the heat.
The power plants which developed in Pakistan were almost four times expensive than that of Bangladesh and Vietnam.
The IPPs have not generated electricity according to the fuel it imported.
Most of the owners of the IPPs are Pakistani nationals. However, they have declared the foreign ownership to reduce the amount of taxes.
