John Cena announced his upcoming retirement from professional wrestling after a career spanning two decades. In a heartfelt speech to fans in Toronto, the wrestler-turned-actor shared that the 2025 season would mark his final year in the ring. Despite disappointment from the crowd, Cena promised a farewell tour with numerous dates and an unforgettable final match. He expressed gratitude to his supporters, acknowledging his long association with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), which he referred to as “the house that you built.”

Speaking to reporters after the event, Cena explained that he feels physically nearing his limit but emphasized his ongoing passion for wrestling. Throughout his career, Cena has been a prominent figure in WWE, achieving 16-time champion status and initially gaining fame as the charismatic “Doctor of Thuganomics” in the early 2000s. Beyond wrestling, he has ventured into acting with notable roles in films like “Blockers,” “The Suicide Squad,” and appearances in the “Fast & Furious” series. His recent projects include the comedy thriller “Argylle” and the successful film “Barbie.”
