LAHORE (WSN) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has declared that terrorism, regardless of the pretext of discontent, will not be tolerated.
In a media briefing following the inauguration of the Urs celebrations of Hazrat Ali Hajvery (Data Ganj Bakhsh), Dar announced a new project featuring automated umbrellas inspired by those in Medina, expressing hope for its successful completion.
Dar reiterated that Pakistan was founded on Islamic principles and assured that its protection was guaranteed until the Day of Judgment. He strongly rejected any justification for terrorism and emphasized Pakistan’s unity, which includes the four provinces, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
He assured that the law would be enforced and that those responsible for the May 9 events would face justice.
Dar also discussed the economic difficulties faced since 2018, attributing some of these issues to political instability in 2017 that hindered the country’s economic progress. He highlighted the current economic challenges, including high inflation and rising electricity costs, and praised the efforts during Nawaz Sharif’s term to address terrorism and power shortages.
He concluded by affirming that, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the guidance of Nawaz Sharif, ongoing efforts are being made to tackle public issues and promote economic development.
