RAWALPINDI (WS News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan on Thursday directed the party to postpone its power show scheduled in Rawalpindi on September 28.

Talking to media in Adiala Jail, the former prime minister said that he knew that the government wouldn’t allow PTI to hold a rally.

Imran Khan directed the party to withdraw the application that was earlier submitted seeking permission to hold power show.

However, the party would stage protest in Rawalpindi on Saturday.

“We’ll hold protests in Rawalpindi while the lawyers’ forum of party will protest outside the Supreme Court,” said Imran Khan.

Earlier, PTI had submitted a request to hold a rally in Rawalpindi on September 28.

The application was filed by PTI District President Chaudhry Ameer Afzal and District General Secretary, accompanied by a team of lawyers, at the Deputy Commissioner’s office.

The request stated that PTI is the largest political party in the country and that holding a peaceful rally was a constitutional and legal right of every political party.

PTI had proposed Liaquat Bagh and Bhata Chowk as potential venues for the rally.
