Gill and Sundar lead India to a 23-run victory against Zimbabwe.

Fielding a youthful side without several members of their recent World Cup-winning squad, India chose to bat first and posted a competitive total of 182 for four in their allotted 20 overs. Gill’s impressive 66 off 49 balls set the foundation, with Ruturaj Gaikwad contributing a brisk 49 off 28 balls to bolster the innings.

Zimbabwe faced a tough challenge early on and slumped to 39 for five within the first seven overs. However, a resilient unbeaten innings of 65 from 49 balls by Dion Myers, supported by Clive Madande’s quickfire 37 off 26 balls, revived their hopes briefly.

India’s bowlers, led by Washington Sundar who claimed 3-15 in four economical overs, including crucial breakthroughs, ensured Zimbabwe fell short despite Myers and Madande’s efforts. The home side ended their innings at 159 for six.

The victory was a testament to India’s solid batting performance and effective bowling strategy, sealing a comfortable win in the match.
