Denmark through to Euros last 16 with Serbia stalemate

Denmark advanced to the Euro 2024 knockout stage following a goalless draw against Serbia on Tuesday, securing second place in Group C ahead of Slovenia based on fewer yellow cards accumulated. The match ended with the same scoreline as England’s parallel match against Slovenia, which saw England top the group. With both Denmark and Slovenia finishing level on points and goal difference, Denmark’s superior disciplinary record earned them a meeting with hosts Germany in Dortmund. Meanwhile, England will face a third-placed team in Gelsenkirchen, and Slovenia will take on a group winner. Serbia, finishing last in the group, were eliminated despite their coach Stojkovic expressing pride in their efforts and emphasizing the challenges of scoring in football.
