KANPUR (WS News) – The Test series against Bangladesh has proven historic for India, with astonishing records being set each day.

In the Kanpur Test match, India made headlines by scoring 383 runs in just 312 balls, changing the landscape of Test cricket.

Indian batsmen achieved an incredible average of 7.36 runs per over in their second innings of the Test match, marking the first time a team has scored at such a high rate in Test cricket.

The previous record for aggressive innings was set by South Africa in 2005 against Zimbabwe, with an average of 6.80.

Additionally, Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal made a world record by completing their team’s half-century in just three overs.

The previous record for the fastest 50 runs was held by England, which made 50 runs in 26 balls against the West Indies.

Moreover, India broke its own record for the fastest 100 runs in this Test, scoring 100 runs in just 61 balls, previously achieved against the West Indies in 12.2 overs in 2023.

The Kanpur Test was also lucky for individual records, as Virat Kohli became the fastest player to reach 27,000 international runs, achieving this milestone in only 594 innings.

In this match, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja became the third left-arm spinner in the world to take 300 Test wickets.
