KANPUR (WS News) – Indian cricket star Virat Kohli has set a new record, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar.

During the second Test against Bangladesh in Kanpur, Kohli became the fastest player to score 27,000 runs in international cricket, achieving this milestone in just 594 innings.

Previously, the record for the fastest 27,000 runs was held by legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar, who reached the mark in 623 innings.

Kohli is now the only cricketer to complete 27,000 international runs in under 600 innings. For comparison, former Australian captain Ricky Ponting achieved this in 650 innings, while former Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangakkara did it in 648 innings.
