Trump Holds Separate Meetings With Zelenskyy and Netanyahu Amid Multiple Global Crises

(WS News) – President Trump met separately with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu this week, as Washington juggles two of the world’s most pressing conflicts alongside its recent confrontation with Iran.

The meeting with Zelenskyy centered on the state of the war in Ukraine and the prospects for a negotiated settlement with Russia, continuing months of on-and-off diplomatic engagement between Washington, Kyiv, and Moscow. Trump has repeatedly pushed both sides toward talks since taking office, alternating between pressuring Ukraine to accept territorial concessions and warning Russian President Vladimir Putin of further sanctions if fighting continues without a resolution.

Trump’s meeting with Netanyahu marked their first sit-down since February, coming shortly after the US and Israel concluded a war against Iran that killed several senior Iranian officials, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The two leaders discussed the aftermath of that conflict and the broader security situation in the region, as Israel continues to navigate tensions with Iran-aligned groups including Hezbollah in Lebanon and Houthi forces in Yemen.

The back-to-back meetings underscore the scale of the diplomatic balancing act facing the White House, which is simultaneously managing a fragile pause in hostilities with Iran, an unresolved war in Ukraine, and a volatile security picture across the Middle East. No breakthrough agreements were announced following either meeting, though officials from both delegations described the discussions as constructive.
