Spain’s primary concern is not deviating from their usual style in the Euro final against England.

Spain’s manager Luis de la Fuente emphasized the importance of his players maintaining their identity of playing entertaining football as they prepare for the Euro 2024 final against England. Speaking on Saturday, he highlighted Spain’s impressive tournament run, which includes six consecutive victories, including a comeback against defensively strong France in the semifinals despite missing key players.

De la Fuente stressed the need for Spain to uphold their attacking style, describing it as essential for their chances in Sunday’s match. He expressed confidence in their approach, stating, “If we are not true to ourselves as Spain, we cannot succeed.” He added, “We have worked hard to improve… Tomorrow, our aim is to assert ourselves while remaining true to our style.”

Known for their skillful and confident performances in Germany, Spain has showcased a reinvigorated style focused on goal-scoring rather than mere possession. They lead the tournament statistics with 108 shots on goal, 37 of which were on target, nearly double England’s attempts.

While acknowledging the anticipated clash of styles in the final, De la Fuente refrained from labeling Spain as favorites. He maintained a calm demeanor, emphasizing their focus on what they can control and their readiness to deliver a strong performance. Reflecting on their journey, he expressed pride in the team’s development and the support they’ve received from their country.

Overall, De la Fuente’s message underscores Spain’s commitment to their football philosophy and their determination to seize the Euro 2024 title.
