LAHORE (WS News) – Pakistan’s star batsman Babar Azam is once again having a moment of pride as his iconic bat has been showcased at Melbourne Cricket Ground’s Long Room.

The exhibit already features bats donated by legendary Don Bradman, David Boon, Jack Hobbs and Brian Lara.

Reports said the MCG management extended invitation to Babar Azam, asking him to give the bat he used during Pakistan’s 2022 T20 World Cup final against England.

Accepting the offer, the ace batsman, who recently stepped down as Pakistan’s white-ball captain and was later dropped from the two-Test series against England, said playing at the MCG had always been an honour for him.

He said he was ecstatic over the offer and “it’s an honour for me to give my bat (for display at MCG) with which I played a World Cup final match.”
