Hardik Pandya crowned top T20I all-rounder after T20 World Cup final heroics

Hardik Pandya’s standout performance in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup has elevated him to the top position in the latest ICC Men’s T20I Rankings for all-rounders.

Following his impressive display, Pandya climbed two spots to jointly hold the No.1 rank alongside Sri Lankan star Wanindu Hasaranga. His pivotal contributions in the final, where he dismissed Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller, were instrumental. Pandya excelled throughout the tournament, showcasing his batting prowess with 144 runs at a striking rate exceeding 150, and also proving effective with the ball, claiming 11 wickets.

His defining moment came in the final, where his crucial breakthrough of Klaasen shifted momentum towards India. Pandya’s composed bowling in the tense final over, defending 16 runs, secured India’s victory in the T20 World Cup.

In other movements within the top 10 of the T20I all-rounder rankings, Marcus Stoinis, Sikandar Raza, Shakib Al Hasan, and Liam Livingstone each advanced by one position. Mohammad Nabi, however, dropped four places, moving out of the top five.

In the men’s T20I bowling rankings, Anrich Nortje made significant strides, climbing seven places to achieve his career-best second position, just behind top-ranked Adil Rashid with 675 rating points.

Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah, recognized as the Player of the Tournament for his 15 wickets, surged up by 12 spots to just outside the top ten, his highest ranking since late 2020.

Kuldeep Yadav entered the top ten of the bowling rankings, rising three spots to joint-eighth. Additionally, Arshdeep Singh reached a career-best No.13 after leading the wickets tally at the T20 World Cup, while Tabraiz Shamsi climbed five positions to break into the top 15.

There was minimal movement in the top ten of the batting rankings, except for South Africa’s Aiden Markram slipping down two places following a subdued tournament with the bat.
