BCCI lavishes praise and pelf on India for hitting a home run

The Indian Cricket Board announced a substantial prize of 1.25 billion rupees for the Rohit Sharma-led Team India, who clinched victory in the T20 World Cup final against South Africa. India set a target of 177 runs, which South Africa fell short of, scoring 169 runs in their innings, resulting in India’s victory by a narrow margin of seven runs in a thrilling last-over finish in Barbados.

Jay Shah, Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), revealed the generous reward for Team India on his social media platform.

“I am delighted to announce a prize purse of INR 125 Crores for Team India following their triumph in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. The team displayed remarkable talent, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. Congratulations to all the players, coaches, and support staff on this exceptional achievement!” Shah stated.
