Mahmudullah bids farewell to T20 International cricket after 17 years

DHAKA (WS News) – Senior all-rounder Mahmudullah Riyad has announced his retirement from T20 internationals following the three-match series against India.

Making his T20 debut against Kenya in 2007, Mahmudullah’s career in this format has spanned an impressive 17 years and 35 days, making it the third-longest T20 career, surpassed only by Shakib Al Hasan and Zimbabwe’s Sean Williams.

Mahmudullah had previously announced his retirement from Test cricket in 2021 but would continue to represent Bangladesh in One Day Internationals.

During his T20 International career, Mahmudullah played 139 matches, scoring 2,395 runs at a strike rate of 117.74, along with 40 wickets.
